Traveling 219 August Van Tour!
This Summer the Traveling 219 Project is putting together a short tour of route 219 to some of its favorite scenic and historic sites around southern Pocahontas County for two Saturdays in August. Join Traveling 219 VISTA Dan Schultz as we ride down 219 from Marlinton in a large capacity van, stopping at and learning about the Pocahontas County Historical Society Museum, the McNeel Mill in Mill Point, the Pearl S. Buck Birthplace, and Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park. Local guides will welcome and talk with the group at each stop. The afternoon will start from the Marlinton Municipal Mini-Park parking lot at 1pm and is planning on returning at 5:30pm. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Please email [email protected] or call the Pocahontas County CVB office at 800.336.7009 if you are interested! Dates are: Saturdays, August 17 and 24. Registration fee is $10 and includes seat reservation, transportation, entrance fees, and snacks!
